• Obituary, 2019. The angels came for Mickey on the morning of April 18, 2019. He was born January 28, 1942 in Penelope, Texas to James A Whiddon and Bobbie Christian Crawford. He was a member of the Whitney Church of Christ.

Mickey was raised in Palestine and Midland, Texas where he met his wife, Detra Rankin, They married on November 3, 1960. Mickey served in the U.S. Army from June 1960 to September 1963. He was a truck driver for many years and retired from AAFES in 2005. He and Detra traveled the US for six years before settling in Hillsboro, Texas in 2012.

He is survived by his wife Detra, daughter, Stacy Widdon Miller and son, James A. Whiddon, sisters Barbara Jordan and Patt Powell of Palestine, Texas, sisters Debbie Blackaller and Donna Hartman of Midland, Texas, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Tracy Detra Whiddon, his father, James A. Whiddon, his mother, Bobbie Crawford, infant brother, James D. Whiddon and sister, Cathy Hardison.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at the Whitney Church of Christ at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday April 24, 2019.

Mickey married Detra Van Rankin, daughter of Walter Hoyt Rankin and Billie Delores McKey. (Detra Van Rankin was born on 11 Aug 1944 in Pauls Valley, Garvin, OK.)
