Mr. Earl Fant, age 69 of Dry Prong, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2007.
Mr. Fant served in the U.S. Army from 1956 until 1958. He retired as a truck driver from Plantation Foods and was currently emplyed as a security gaurd as Jordache Clean Harbor in Colfax.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Malyor Fant; two brothers, Walter Fant and James Perkins.
He is survived by his loving wife of twenty years, Judy. He also leaves behind a brother, John Fant and his wife Jean of Williana; two sisters: Melba Degner of Marshall, Texas and Kathryn Short and her husband Charles of Minden, La.; six children Robert Earl and his wife Christi of Dodge City, Ks, Louis Fant of Brushy Prairie, Tx, Johnny Ray of Waxahache, Tx., Debra Lorenz and her husband Henry of Attalla, Al., Bryant Clonts and wife Deedra, and eight grandchildren. Mr. Fant is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Zion Hill Baptist Church near Williana with John Fant officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Chapel Cemetery in Williana under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services.
Pallbearers will be: Charles Evans, Ken Maddry, Preston Mosley, Maurice Whatley, John Brown, and Joey Madere. Honorary pallbearers will be: Brian Degner and Harley Dickess.
Earl married Barbara Jean Simmons, daughter of William Louis Simmons and Lillie Mae Friday. (Barbara Jean Simmons was born on 10 Aug 1942 in LA, died on 26 Mar 2013 in Blooming Grove, Navarro, TX and was buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Blooming Grove, Navarro, TX.)
