• Obituary, 1937, Quitaque, Briscoe, TX. G.B. Wise, Quitaque, Died Suddenly Sunday (12 Dec. 1937)
Funeral for Son-in-Law of Floydada City Marshall Held Monday Afternoon
G.B. Wise 37, of Quitaque, died suddenly Sunday at noon of an attach of acute indigestion, and the remains were interred in Quitaque Cemetery Monday Afternoon following the funeral service held at 3 o'clock. Rev Smithee, Baptist minister conducked the funeral.

Wise had returned home on Saturday night from a trucking trip to Louisiana and was in usual robust health as late as 10 o'clock Sunday Morning, Clement McDonald of this city, a long time friend of the family, said. At that hour he chatted with his brother Glen for a little while and members of the family said he then went downtown for a few minutes to chat with friends after an absence of several days. He complained of feeling bad about 11 o'clock and before a doctor could be summoned he had expired.

A son-in-law of City Marshall and Mrs Morgan Wright, of this city the deceased is survived by his wife and three year old son. four brothers and three sisters. One of the brothers, Glen Wise is a resident of Quitaque the other brothers and sisters living in Louisiana. He was a native of that state but had lived for many years in this section.

Mr and Mrs Wright, their sons Herman, Leslie and Clyde of this city , Mr and Mrs RayCrabtree of Menerd Texas and Mrs Grady Wright of Brownfield . were among those who attended the funeral.
Mrs Wise the surviving wife and her little son are here this week in the home of her parents.
