• Obituary, 2007. Olga Smith Murry came to this country to make a better life for herself and her children. Here she met the love of her life, Henry. She was creative, self-sacrificing and courageous. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. We will love you always, Alotti! She was a native of Mexico and a resident of Baton Rouge. She passed away on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, at 9:20 p.m. at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet at the age of 84. Visiting will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Sunday, Jan. 28, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting will resume at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Monday, Jan. 29, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Kenneth Smith. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Henry, in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jorge and Jackie Smith of Baton Rouge; four daughters and a son-in-law, Ileana Johnson and fiancé Harold Martinez of Albuquerque, N.M., Martha Murry, M.D., of Philadelphia, Margaret and Michael Ratcliff of Columbus, Ind., and Elizabeth M. Rhodes of Walker; brother and sister-in-law, David and Joanie Smith of Rancho Mirage, Calif.; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Sean Johnson and fiancée Georgia LaNasa, Brooke Johnson of San Francisco, Eric and Eleanor Smith of Baton Rouge, Staci and Kyle Averette of Austin, Texas, Ben and Drew Candebat, both of Memphis, Tenn., Grant Ratcliff of Columbus, Ethan Brent Rhodes and Evan Barrett Rhodes, both of Walker; two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Zachary Johnson, both of Baton Rouge; and a large family in Mexico. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Elwood Murry; parents, David and Teodora Peralta Smith; sister, Anita Vera Smith; and a brother, Eduardo Smith. Pallbearers will be Eric Smith, Sean Johnson, Drew and Ben Candebat, Harold Murry and Frank Murry. She was of the Catholic faith. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to CASA, 341 St. Joseph St., Baton Rouge, LA 70802.
