• Obituary, 2012. Funeral services for Jimmy D. Thompson, age 74, of Urania, will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday September 23, 2012 at Urania Pentecostal Church with Bro. LaVerl Shell officiating. Interment will follow at Urania Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday starting at 2:00 PM at the church.
Jimmy was born November 30, 1937 to Ernest and Lela Mae Thompson in Sikes and he passed from this life on September 20, 2012 at Hardtner Medical Center in Urania.
He was a retired logger. He loved the outdoors, especially camping and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Glen Roy Thompson, David Thompson, and Tommy Thompson; son-in-law: Paul Layne Breland.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years: Joy Lynn Thompson; son Kevin Thompson of Jena; two daughters: Cindy Richey and her husband Elson of Manifest; Melanie Breland of Jena; three sisters: Gloria Davis and her husband Donald of Jonesboro; Rita Kay Stewart of Jonesboro; Brenda Wilkinson and her husband John of Natchez; grandchildren: Jennifer Renfrow, Tyler Richey, Eddie Thompson, Michael Thompson, Levi Thornton, Morgan Lafferty, and Jaye Breland; great-grandchildren: Hunter Renfrow, Kailey Renfrow, Nathan Renfrow, Conner Thompson, Ryker Thompson, Braylee Thornton, and Bryar Thornton.

Jimmy married Joy Lynn Street, daughter of Allie Mead Street and Myrtle Mae McKinley. (Joy Lynn Street was born on 15 Sep 1942, died on 4 May 2015 and was buried in Urania Cemetery, LaSalle, LA.)
