Devoted daughter of Sam Serio and Minnie Vera Sikes. Dearest sister of Carol Ann Serio Ruf and John Russell Serio. Also survived by her brother-in-law, Charles Richard Ruf; and nieces, and nephews Karen Ruf Mumford, Ariel Chaisson, Joshua Mumford, and Jason, Melissa and Allison Serio. Ms. Fontaine moved from New Orleans, LA, to Washington, DC, in the early 1970s. She worked at the Smithsonian Institute for several years, organizing exhibits. In 1984, Ms. Fontaine moved to San Francisco, CA, and worked at several museums. Additionally, she was an accomplished sculptor. Until her death, Ms. Fontaine worked at the De Young Museum in San Francisco, CA, where she was a senior technician.
