• Obituary, 2003. Graveside services for William Orvel Knight, 90, of Shreveport will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 22, 2003 in Centuries Memorial Park. Officiating will be Reverend Steve Slaughter from Odyssey Hospice. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Knight passed away Thursday, March 20, 2003 at Garden Park after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Oklahoma and has resided in Shreveport since 1976. He was retired from Phillips Petroleum after 35 years of service.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Flora Mae Knight.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ellen Sealey and husband, Michael of Shreveport, Billie Elliott and husband, Steve of Lexington, TN; three sons, Donald Lee Knight and wife, Kelli of Berwick, LA, Russ Knight and wife, Denise of Fairfax, VA, Stanley Knight and wife, Madelyn of The Woodlands, TX; a brother, L. D. Knight and wife, Pauline of Santee, CA; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
William married Flora Mae Russ on 29 Jan 1945 in Pauls Valley, OK. (Flora Mae Russ was born on 4 May 1922 in TX, died on 15 Dec 1998 and was buried in Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery, Shreveport, Caddo, LA.)
