Killed In Truck Wreck
Funeral services were held Sunday for Bobby Glenn Murry, 32, of Joyce who was killed in a log truck accident Friday morning, December 17.
According to state police reports, the log truck driven by Murry was traveling south on La. 34, about three miles south of Chatham. The left front tire apparently blew out as the truck was descending a hill, and the truck swerved across the center line, left the road on the opposite side and struck a ditch embankment. The load of logs rolled over the cab of the truck, crushing Murry, officials said.
A ruptured gas tank caused the truck to catch fire, but Murry was not seriously burned, police said.
Funeral services for Mr. Murry were held at 10 a.m. Sunday, December 19, at the Zion Hill Baptist Church in Williana, with the Rev. Delton Sharbono officiating. Burial was in Liberty Chapel Cemetery in Williana under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
Among Mr. Murry's survivors are his wife, Mrs. Ruby Ann Murray; three sons, Derrel, Shannon, and Brent Murry and two daughters, Kimberley and Angela, all of Joyce; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Denver Murry of Dry Prong; six brothers, L.
