  Noted events in her life were:

• Obituary. Funeral services for Mrs. Laura Sikes, 91, of Pineville, were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Sikes Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie James officiating. Burial was in Sikes Cemetery.

Mrs. Sikes died Saturday, July 3, 1971 in Pineville Nursing Home following a short illness.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Rosa Simmons of Monroe, Mrs. Berta Crain of Shreveport, and Mrs. Ethel Hathorn of Pineville; 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
