• Obituary, 2006. Jo Dean Cottrell, of Midland, passed away Monday, October 2, 2006.

She was born February 17, 1923 to Paul H. McKey and Erma Wise McKey in Elmore City, Oklahoma where she was reared and educated. On December 6, 1941 she married Herman Grady Cottrell in Yuma, Arizona. He preceded her in death on May 18, 2006. Jo was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Billie Rankin, and a great-grandson.

Jo is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Randy Shoemaker; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Cheryl Cottrell; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Carolyn Cottrell; son and daughter-in-law, Stan and Harriet Cottrell; sister, Pauline Knight; grandchildren, Chad Cottrell, Jeff Cottrell, Jarett Shoemaker, Ashley Shoemaker-Fuller, Kristin Steadman, Katie McCaleb, Aaron Snyder, Ali Snyder, Brandon Cottrell and Lauren Cottrell; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services have been scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 5, 2006 at Resthaven Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Cottrell, Jeff Cottrell, Jarett Shoemaker, Brandon Cottrell, Larry Knight and Mickey Whiddon. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
