Walter Madison Gray, Sr., 74, known as ?Skeeter? Gray passed away peacefully at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital, Friday, August 18, 2006 with his family by his side.
Skeeter Gray was born on July 11, 1932 in Goose Creek, Texas. He was a lifelong resident of Baytown and later in the Cove area. He could do almost anything with his hands. Skeeter was a heavy equipment operator. He built many roads throughout the Baytown area. In his later years, he owned Gray?s Mobile Home Park and Gray?s Fish Camp.
Skeeter is preceded in death by his loving wife, Sally Gray; his son, Donald Gray, and his parents, Dewey and Winnie Gray.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: daughter, Deana and husband, Boo Boo Fojt; sons, Calvin Gray and wife, Marilyn, Walter Gray, JR.(Hot Shot) and wife, Darlene; grandchildren: Kassity Fojt of Hollywood, Calif., Sheila and Joey Melton of Baytown, Texas, Charlie Fojt, Jordan Fojt, Kyle Gray, Calvin Gray, Glendon Gray, Shane Gray, Julie Gray, Joe Gray, Dewey Gray, Matt Walker, Rachael Walker, Travis Wilson; greatgrandchildren: Haley Melton and Ryan Melton; and special friend: Mable Anderson.
The family will receive friend Sunday, August 20, 2006 at Earthman Funeral Home from 2-5 p.m.
Graveside Funeral Service will be Monday, August 21, 2006 at Jordan Cemetery in Batson, Texas at 11a.m. with Reverend Beau Rosser officiating.
Pallbearers will be Skeeter?s grandsons: Charlie Fojt, Jordan Fojt, Calvin Gray, Glendon Gray, Shane Gray, Dewey Gray, Joe Gray, Joey Melton, Kyle Gray, Matthew Walker and Travis Wilson.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Kory Guidry and staff, San Jacinto Methodist ICU Unit and nurses; Alese, Martin and Cynthia for their patience and care.
