• Obituary. Funeral services for Troy J. Murry, Jr. will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2017, in the chapel of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home with Dr. David Shaw officiating. Interment will follow in Alexandria Memorial Gardens under the direction of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home.
Visitation will begin on Thursday, July 13, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will resume on Friday, from 8:30 a.m. until time of service, at the funeral home.
Troy J. Murry, Jr., 85, of Woodworth, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Troy J. Murry, Sr., and Elizabeth Sanders Murry; and his sister, Bessie Lee Swanson.
Troy, known affectionately as “T.J.” served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church, and the Masonic Lodge. T.J. was a contractor/ carpenter, a school bus driver for Rapides Parish and then later retired from the nursery business in Woodworth.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Geraldine V. Murry of Woodworth; their daughter, Barbara Adams (Steven) of Forest Hill; grandchildren, Brandon and Anjelica Adams; his brother-in-law, Charles Gordon (Linda); and 4 nieces and 1 nephew.
