Succumbs at 79

George W. Murry, 79, died in an Alexandria hospital at 7:15 a.m. Thursday.

Survivors include three sons, Clyde Murry of DeRidder, Ober Murry of Winnfield, Ollie Murry of Dry Prong, four daughters, Mrs. Bessie Slaytor, Mrs. Lois Loe and Mrs. Julia Hyde, all of Dry Prong and Mrs. Hazel Sanders of Glenmora; a brother, Lee Murry of Winnfield; two half-brothers, Ray Gray and Hardy Gray, both of Whistertown, Calif.; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Remains will be at the family residence near Dry Prong. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday from the Liberty Chapel. Interment, under the direction of Hixson Bros. Funeral Home, will follow in the Liberty Chapel cemetery.

George married Minnie Alice Nugent, daughter of Thomas Harrison Nugent and Julia Long, on 16 Jan 1902 in Williana, Grant Parish, LA. (Minnie Alice Nugent was born on 5 Feb 1883 in Grant Parish, LA, died on 1 Nov 1931 and was buried in Liberty Chapel Cemetery, Williana, Grant Parish , LA.)
